Funeral services for Mrs. Zelma Louise Martin,affectionately known as "Ma Maw Honey" age 93, of Columbia will be held 2:00 PM Sunday November 24, 2013 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Smith and Rev. Jack McKeithen officiatingInterment will follow in the Crowville Masonic Cemetery at Crowville, Visitation will be on Saturday November 23, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home located at 7131 U S Highway 165, Columbia.
Zelma Chappell Martin was born on September 18, 1920 at to the union of her parents Jeter Brooks Chappell and Maudie Barton Chappell, and passed from this life on Thursday November 21, 2013 at the Haven Nursing Center in Columbia. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband Cleveland David "C D" Martin, and by an infant son. She was an active member of the Palestine Baptist Church and was extremely involved in the religious services held at the Haven Nursing Home weekly.
Survivors include:her son Robert Martin and wife Peggy of Pollock, two daughters: Carolyn Price of Columbia and Cassille Waggoner and husband Ernest of Eros, LA; her brother, Paul Ray Chappell and wife Jean of Collinsville, MS, eleven grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren,
Pallbearers include: Jackie Richardson, David Martin, Eric Martin, Eric Martin,Jeremy Glass,Tim Martin, and Larry Jones.
