Death Claims Mrs. Leopold Miller In Davenport Hospital Friday
Entire Life Was Spent in Geneseo And Edford Township
The passing of Mrs. Leopold Miller of Geneseo, occurred at St. Luke's hospital in Davenport, Friday, December 28, 1928. Mrs. Miller had suffered with a goiter for some time and was removed to the hospital about two weeks prior to her death. Wilhelmina Florentine Parpart Miller was born September 13, 1866 in Geneseo township and at the time of her death was aged 62 years, 3 months and 15 days. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius Parpart. Mrs. Miller's girlhood days were spent in Edford Township. She was baptized, confirmed and married in St. Peter's Evangelical church in that township. She was married to Leopold Miller in August, 1885, and they engaged in farming in Geneseo and Edford township until eight years ago when they retired and moved to this city. Deceased was the mother of ten children, two dying in infancy. There survive beside the husband, three daughters, Mrs. Ida Yahnke of Geneseo township: Mrs. Minnie Schuetzler, of Edford township: and Mrs. Louise Hamann, of Geneseo township: five sons, Arthur, Rudolph and Henry of Edford township. Also nine grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Albert Miller and Mrs. Augusta Krueger of this city. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the home, Rev. J. Dipple of St. Peter's Evangelical church of Edford officiating. Interment was in Edford Cemetery. The five sons and one son- in-law Gust Yahnke served as pallbearers. Musical numbers were furnished by the Geneseo Male Quartet.
