The placard on the tomb states that Sarah is the daughter of James Apthorp (granddaughter of Charles Apthorp).

I have had suggestions that she is actually the daughter of Charles, who died 9 months before her birth, and when Charles' wife was 50. I am skeptical of this claim, and defer to the info provided by the church in which the tomb lies. If anyone has evidence that she was actually Charles' daughter, I would love to see it.
