Col. Shutt, a Charles Town VA native, was a retired Army Colonel. He graduated from West Point Military Academy in 1919, and was an Episcopalian.
Survivors are his wife, Mary, daughters, Mrs. Andrew Hardy, Mrs. Joe Pleasants; brother, Phillip Shutt; sisters, Mrs A.D. Amoroso, Mrs. William Perry; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
