James Andrew Delinger, aged 82, a resident of Blair for 20 years, succumbed at his residence on east Park street Saturday morning after a two-weeks illness. Mr. Delinger was an uncle of James L. "Pepper" Martin, famous baseball player with the St. Louis Cardinals.

The son of Jacob and Polly Delinger, he was born at (sp?) Swgelwhier, North Carolina, March 29, 1853 and spent the early part of his life in that state.

Funeral services were held at Campbell's mortuary Monday afternoon, the Rev. Thomas J. Reese of the Baptist church officiating. Interment was at Stanton.
