"BETTY CROXTON, 79, of Fort Wayne died Sunday at home. The Fort Wayne native retired in 1985 as a respiratory therapist for Lutheran Hospital after 25 years.

Surviving are a daughter, Karen Shive of Fort Wayne; sons, Walter D. of Quitman, Ark., Dennis of Potomac, Miss., and Richard of Houston; sister, Jean Neher of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services are noon tomorrow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with burial in Catholic Cemetery. Calling is 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in Mungovan & Sons Memorial Chapel, 2114 S. Calhoun St., and 11 a.m. to noon tomorrow in the church. A vigil is at 4:30 p.m. today in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are gifts to Cancer Services of Allen County."

Grandson Mike Croxton describes his Grandma Betty with these simple words: "She was a great lady."
