Elmer E. Coss, Atalissa, Dies of Brief Illness

Atalissa---Elmer E.[Ellsworth] Coss, a resident of this community his entire life, died suddenly at his home at 4:15 p.m. Friday after an illness of a few days.

Mr. Coss was born, May 31, 1864 in Atalissa. He married Miss Ida [Mae] Stauffer [daughter of George W. and Susanne Stauffer] on Aug. 21, 1889 (in Muscatine.)

Surviving are his wife and 10 children, Mrs. Hazel DeVore and Emmett Coss of Atalissa, Frank of Cicero, Minn., Earl of Indianapolis, Ind., Scott of Cleveland, Margaret of Salem, Nev., Herbert and Louis of Moscow, Mrs. Fern Morgan of Rochester, Ia., and Floyd Coss of Atalissa. Two children, Oramae and Clifford, preceeded him in death. A sister, Mrs. Daniel Runner, of Pasadena, Calif., also survives.

Funeral services are incomplete. The body was taken to the S. C. Snider Funeral home in West Liberty.
