(William) James Nutt lived in Whitefield,Lincoln, ME, but removed to Harmony, then called Vaughnstown, Somerset, Maine and died there at age 93. He was a farmer and shoemaker, and twice married. William James Nutt was a private in 1777 under Captain John Orr and was at the Battle of Bennington (see below for historical description). In 1781 he enlisted in the wagon service under Samuel Kimball, conductor of New Hampshire Troops.
