Opal Angeline Stukas-McKenna, 91, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at Indian Hills Nursing & Rehab Center.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with Pastor Russell Brown of Church on the Way officiating. Interment will follow the services. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Opal was born Feb. 19, 1915, in Bronson, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew Preston and Mary Loretta Brown. The family later moved to Pender, Neb. In 1953, she moved to California and then returned to Sioux City in 1970. She then moved back to California in 1994 for 10 years before returning to Sioux City in 2004, and had resided here since that time.

She married Robert E. Stukas and then later in her life, married Francis McKenna, both of whom preceded her in death. Opal was a homemaker.

She was a member of Christian Life Fellowship Church. Opal enjoyed people. She always helped out in the church and with neighborhood activities and functions. She was a very caring individual for people of all ages and always willing to go that extra mile.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Eugene and Sharon Stukas of Sioux City, Harold and Gail Stukas of Athens, Texas and Larry and Virginia McKenna of Red Bluff, Calif.; four daughters, Loretta and her husband, Ed Adams, of Senaple City, Calif., Ellie Thompson of Red Bluff, Calif., Kay and her husband, Don Dennis, of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Sandra (McKenna) and her husband, William Powers, of Pierce City, Mo.; a brother and his wife, Russell A. and Katie Brown of Sioux City; a sister and her husband, Jetta and William Utter of Sioux City; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leonard and Lloyd Brown; and her husbands, Robert E. Stukas and Francis McKenna.
