He was baptized on the 11th October 1807 in Ashby-de-la-Zouche, Leicestershire.
John married Eliza Spencer on the 10th September 1833 at St. Laurence's Church, Foleshill, Coventry, Warwickshire. An article in the Coventry Herald dated the 20th September 1833, states the at the time of his marriage John Adcock was a hairdresser.
