Obituary
Amanda O. Greer was born near Bolivar, Missouri, May 10, 1858; departed this life April 10, 1922, aged 63 years and 11 months. She was bereft of a husband twenty years ago. Four daughters and a son are left to mourn the loss of a loving, devoted mother, namely Mrs. Will Jones, Mrs. Damus Autem, Mrs. Tom Hope of Fort Scott, Mrs. Frank Snow, and Mr. Frank Greer of Molsom, Washington.
Having pressed religion early in life, she died with all her faith and hopes in that land of eternal rest, where the cares and pitfalls of life are wiped away. None but her children knew the many sacrifices that she made to try to lift life's burdens from their shoulders. There is comfort in believing that her work in this world has not been in vain. Life is a flower, first the bud of babyhood, then you blossom into manhood and womanhood, then when the Grim reaper, Death, with the sickle of time, has mowed you down, like the flower, you return to the Mother Earth from which you came. With hope we look beyond to that great reunion where families will be reunited never to be parted.
Services were conducted by Rev. E.L. Torrence Tuesday afternoon at the Christian church. Interment was made in the Cherokee cemetery.
Card of Thanks
We desire to thank our relatives and dear friends for their sympathy, words of comfort and beautiful floral offerings, also the minister and singers for the kindness shown us during the death and burial of our mother.
