Joseph Bishop was the son of William T. and Sarah Florence Harrison Bishop,born at home on "Twin Meadows Farm" nr. Carville and moved to "Briston Farm with his family when he was 2, between Centreville and Queenstown. He married Julia Reed Goldsborough from Centreville on 28 Dec 1931.They had one daughter, Beverly Paige Bishop, who they adopted as an infant. He farmed for a living and became The Delegate in The House of Representatives, from Queen Anne's Co. in 1952. He became ill with T.B.,and was Hospitalized in Mount Wilson Hospital,in the late fall of 1953 where he died in Feb.6, 1954. His wife filled his seat in The House of Representatives. He is buried in The BISHOP LOT, with his parents, wife, and many of his brothers and sisters and their spouses in Chesterfield Cemetery, just behind the Shed at the top of the road where you enter the Cemertery.
