From the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Friday, March 3, 1944, p. 14:

Ed Donohoe, 77, of 1307 Boulevard, veteran horse and mule buyer, died Thursday after an illness of five years. He was formerly associated with horse and mule companies on the North Side and also operated independently for many years.

Acting as a Government purchaser during World War I, he topped the market in Fort Worth for many months in purchasing mules for use in Belgium.

He had been a resident of Fort Worth for 32 years and of Shiner for three years prior to coming to Fort Worth. Mr. Donohue was born in Vincennes, Ind.

Five years ago he retired. Rosary will be said at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Robertson-Mueller-Harper Temple and the funeral mass will be Saturday at 9 a.m. in All Saints Catholic Church, with Rev. John Maher officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood.

Survivors are the widow; four sons, Pete and Michael, Fort Worth, and John and Edward Jr., La Grange; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Pemberton and Mrs. Thomas Marrs, Fort Worth; two brothers, Pat, of Kansas City, and John of California.
