Son of Joseph Abbott and Anna Peabody

During the Revolutionary War, Joseph served with the Andover Militia for about 3 months under Captain Benjamin Varnum. From June through August 1880, he served under Captain Barnes (Merrimack, New Hampshire). He lived in Andover, Massachusetts before moving to Andover, Vermont. (Application for pension. Joseph was awarded a pension starting March, 1831. Lucy was awarded a widow's pension in 1836).
