Lucille A. "Lucy" Smithhart, 82, of Woodburn, died on Wednesday, 7 April 2010, at New Haven Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Woodburn, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Elsa Pieper. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Woodburn. She retired in 1990 from Magnavox Corporation after 47 1/2 years.

She is survived by her children, Joseph Smithhart of Fort Wayne, Kevin Smithhart and Brenda (Bob) Ort, both of Woodburn; one brother, Wilbert Pieper of Fort Wayne; sisters, Evelyn James of Payne, Ohio and Ruth Ann Hootman of Auburn; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Carma, in 1953; and siblings, Dorothy Sailor, Raymond Pieper, Oscar Pieper, Melvin Pieper, Marcella Harrison and Norbert Pieper.

Service is 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church, 4412 Park Ave., Woodburn, with calling one hour prior to service. The Rev. Tim Edwards officiating.

Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E. State Blvd., New Haven. Burial is in the church cemetery.
