Driskill Services to Be Tuesday

Richland Center - The Richland Center American Legion post will furnish color guard, firing squad, and pallbearers for the funeral Tuesday morning of Flight Officer John F. Driskill, killed in a plane accident near Trenton, N.J., Wednesday night. The Legion unit of 19 men will go to the home of the young officer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Driskill, near Gotham, and escort the body to St. Mary's Catholic church here where services will be held at 9:30 a.m., the Rev. Owen Mitchell conducting. Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery. A fellow flight officer from Millville army air base accompanied the body here.
Besides the parents, Flight Officer Driskill is survived by a younger brother, Kenneth, in Sardinia, who has been overseas 14 months; two sisters, Mrs. Garth Collins, Rockford, formerly of Madison, and Mrs. Ralph Sippy, Richland Center, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred McMillen, Richland Center. His father is employed at the Badger Ordnance Works.
Driskill received his wings at Enid, Okla., Feb. 8, and has since been taking further training as a pilot of a P-47 Thunderbolt at Washington, D.C., and Millville, N.J.
