Mr. Olson was born July 13, 1914, to Archie and Emma (Tagley) Olson at Bemidji, where he grew up, attended Lincoln School and graduated from Bemidji High School and Bemidji State College 52 years ago.
He taught in Cass Lake for five years, and began its band. He taught in Annapolis, MD., where he was also a school administrator and counselor. He retired from teaching in the early 1970s. While in Annapolis, he was involved in summer theater. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945.
He is survived by two aunts.
