Her parents are unknown. According to the Cape May Ocean Wave, newspaper, she married Uriah Cresse on 21 Aug 1858. Uriah was a farmer, cattle owner and seamen. Their children were: Almedia, Lot Buck, Jenny, Walter, Agness, Ada, William, Harry, Daniel, Frank, Herbert, and Rowland. They lived in what is now known as the Uriah Hand Cresse House in Erma, NJ. According to the 1930 census when Mary was 93 years old, she was living at the Almshouse in Cape May Courthouse. At one point a farm was run on the property and it was known as Johnson Farm. The almshouse later became Crest Haven nursing home.
