Mrs. Portman reportedly had relatives in this area.
She was a retired elementary teacher, and taught 10 years in Fayette, Ohio, and 25 years in Pittsburgh City schools.
She was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, Pittsburgh.
Surviving are a daughter, Eleanor Vercher of Harrisburg; a son, Charles A. Portman of Santa Maria, Calif.; a brother, Paul Daschbach; a sister, Crescentia M. Daschbach; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held yesterday and burial made Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Pittsburgh. John F. Slater Funeral Home, 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood, was in charge of arrangements.
