Jean Coates Jones, 85, of Colonial Beach passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at her home.
Jean was born to Carry Lenus and Bessie Miller Coates in Westmoreland County, where she lived her entire life. She was a cashier at the Bank of Westmoreland for many years. Jean was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, William Clifton Jones.
She is survived by two sons, W.C. Jones Jr. and his wife, Debby, of Mechanicsville and Brent Jones and his wife, Cathy, of Colonial Beach; three grandchildren, Taylor, Wesley and Kayla; and sister-in-law Beatrice Jones of Montross.
The family acknowledges the faithful service of her caregivers, who were there for her for many years.
Jean's family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, with the service beginning at 3 p.m. The Rev. Richard Headley will officiate. A private interment will follow in Round Hill Baptist Cemetery, King George.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Colonial Beach Rescue Squad, 225 Dennison St.,
