Robert Hale Beason Sr., died at 6 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born on Nov. 7, 1913, in Kosciusko County and lived in South Bend for the past 40 years. He is survived by a son, Robert Jr. of South Bend; and a sister, Mrs. Irene Hawthorne of Arizona.
He was a retired manager of Leonard's Gas Station, and was a member of Elks Lodge 451, American Legion Post 161 and Kappa Phi Fraternity. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. The body has been donated to Indiana University Anatomical Board in Indianapolis. Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan St., was in charge of arrangements.
