Walter (Trip) Ashley Triplett, age 92, widower of Katherine (Dottie) Bly Triplett, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2013.Born in Indian Head, Maryland, he was a son of the late Clifford Earl and Juanita Kerrick Triplett. He served for six years in the Air Force during World War II and completed fifty combat missions as a pilot. He moved to Orangeburg, South Carolina, after his military service and worked in sales at Cox Wood Preserving Company. He continued to fly private planes and sailplanes as a hobby. After retirement, he enjoyed spending his time building a 2 seat sport plane called a Dragonfly.Mr. Triplett is survived by a son, Larry Triplett and wife Linda; three daughters, Katherine Ann Triplett, Carolyne Groves and husband James Cassidy, and Mary Elizabeth Triplett and husband Mark Herander; four grandchildren, Bly Triplett, Ashley Troutman, Katie Groves, and Matt Groves.
