Ross Pearce Alford, 54, of Wanchese, NC died Friday, May 4, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Alford was born in Winston-Salem, NC and was a diesel mechanic for the NC State Ferry Division at the shipyard in Manns Harbor. He was the loving husband of Merri Jo "Josie" Foye Alford of the residence.
Besides his wife, Mr. Alford is survived by his mother, Nancy Nixon Sells of Winston-Salem, NC; his father, Edgar V. Alford and wife, Nancy of Kernersville, NC; a daughter, Lindsay Lane Todd and husband, Brantley of Thomasville, NC; a son, Adam Justin Alford and wife, Pam of Kernersville, NC; two sisters, Robin McCall and husband, Billy of Pauley's Island, SC and Dawn Alford of Winston-Salem, NC; a grandson, Trevor Todd; two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by a step-father, Dumont Sells.
The family will receive friends at Twiford Funeral Home, Manteo, NC on Monday, May 07, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The body will be taken to J.C. Green Funeral Home, Winston Salem, NC, for a visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm. A memorial service will then be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 2:00 pm at J.C. Green Funeral Home.
