Norton Lucille - Norton, 93, of Jacksonville, FL went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, 31405. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida and was the daughter of the late William F and Emma Dougherty. She was a faithful, dedicated member of First Coast Baptist Church (originally the old Beaver St Baptist Church) for over 50 years. She played the piano in Sunday school services for children of all ages for 35 years. She also provided daycare services in her home and raised Chihuahua puppies for many years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Barney B Bazemore in 1955 and her second devoted husband George Norton in 1986; brother, John N Dougherty; sisters, Elizabeth Dougherty Murray, Ethel Dougherty Copeland. She has left behind a legacy of love with her surviving family and friends: Daughter Mary (Harold) Lindsey; Son Ray (Mary) Bazemore; Stepson, Robert (Frances) Norton; Grandchildren, Lueann Crawford Grosse, Carol Crawford (Steve) Smith, Michael Bazemore, Cheryl Bazem ore (Dan) Wright, Brian Bazemore; Great Grandchildren, Emily and Amos Livingston; Amanda Grosse (Chris) Wise and Amber Grosse (John) Peters; Joel, Jesse and Jon (Jennifer) Smith; Michael Bazemore II; GreatGreat Grandchildren, Bradley and Christopher Wise, Sebastian Smith; numerous Nieces; Nephews; very dear, old and new Friends. The family will receive friends Thursday 6 to 8 PM at Town and Country Funeral Home 7242 Normandy Blvd. Rev Bill Doughterty will be officiating. Also contributing are: Rev Richard Edwards, Tom Bundy and Rev Herman Stahl at the funeral service to be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Town and Country Funeral Home 7242 Normandy Blvd. Lucille will be laid to rest at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. The family wishes to thank hospice for their assistance and the staff at Life Care Center of Orange Park for the diligent, loving care they provided during the past few years for Mrs. Norton.
