Services for Irene Hanel Ramey of McMinnville will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Hood River.

Private interment will follow in Idlewilde Cemetery, Hood River.

Mrs. Ramey died Feb. 9 in her McMinnville home. She was 89.

Born Nov. 19, 1905, she was the daughter of Charles J. and Maud Cresswell Devin. She was raised on a ranch near Ione and attended Ione schools. She graduated from Ione High School. She moved with her family to Mt. Hood in 1923.

She was married to George J. Hanel on Dec. 7, 1924.

She and her first husband built and operated grocery stores in Parkdale and Mt. Hood. They owned and operated Hanel Sporting Goods from 1948 to 1964. She moved with her husband to Hermiston in 1970 to be near a daughter.

Mr. Hanel preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 1978.

She was married to Kenneth C. Ramey on Sept. 8, 1983. The couple made their home in McMinnville.

She was a member of the Upper Valley Presbyterian Church at Parkdale and the Hermiston Emblem Club.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and James Smith of Hermiston; a grandson; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Mason of Seattle, Wash.; a stepson, Warren Ramey of Prineville; and fie step-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her second husband in 1994; by her parents; and by a brother, Keltsie Devin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oregon Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
