Bertha A. Foerster was born on April 4, 1931 to Alvin Schneider and Gertie (Lay) Schneider in Fedor, TX. She was baptized on April 12, 1931 at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington. She confirmed her faith in the Rite of Confirmation on October 23, 1957 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fedor, TX. Her Confirmation verse was Matthew 28:20 "Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world."
Bertha's greatest joy was her work. She served as custodian of Lexington Independent School District for 40 years, and also for the Baptist and Methodist churches in Lexington. Bertha never met a stranger. Her generosity over the years has helped many families and friends. Bertha took great pride in her yard and loved planting and tending to her flowers.
Bertha passed away the evening of November 13, 2013 at the Giddings Residence and Rehabilitation Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Gertie Schneider;her three brothers, Erwin Schneider, Oswald Schneider and Floyd Schneider;two sisters, Irma Iselt and Dorothy Schautschick;her son, Raymond Schneider.
Bertha is survived by her sister, Susie Proske of La Grange;sisters-in-law, Frances Schneider of Lexington and Gladys Schneider of Lincoln;brother-in-law Leonard Iselt of Giddings; numerous nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and acquaintences.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or to the charity of one's choice.
