He is survived by his devoted wife, Cleophia S. Abel; two sons, Ralph Roscoe Abel Jr. and Russell Ralph Abel Sr.; two daughters, Cathe Lyn Abel and Hollyana Dickens; his mother, Rebecca H. Abell; three grandchildren, Felicia Abel, Russell Ralph Abel Jr. and Crystal Ingram; two brothers, Henry Alvin and Melvin Abel; one sister, Aseneth Clark; a host of nieces and nephews; one aunt, Sarah Anthony; one uncle, Albert Abel; a host of cousins; one son-in-law, Elbert Dickens; four sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, other relatives and friends.
Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 North 25th St., where the family will receive friends Friday 7 to 8 p.m., and where funeral services will be held Saturday 11 a.m. Rev. Glenn Mason officiating. Burial Maury Cemetery.
