Winona Smith Hughes, age 96, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away November 13, 2013. Funeral Services were held in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Timothy Hankins officiating. Interment was at Mountain View Cemetery.
A native of Cherokee County, NC, Mrs. Hughes resided in southern California for 10 years before moving to Marietta in 1946. She retired from J.C. Penney after 25 years of employment, and was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church in Marietta. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, and took classes at the 1st United Methodist Church of Marietta.
Mrs. Hughes is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Dessie Cook, her husbands, B.T. Smith and Van B. Hughes.
