Ann Smith Terrill was the wife of James Terrill and daughter of Gen. William Smith and his first wife, Elizabeth Singleton. "James Terrill was County and Circuit Court Clerk from 1830 to 1850 – the writer of this wrote in the office of James Terrill in 1849-50. Terrill died in May 1851. I was living with him at the time of his death. His widow, whose maiden name of Annie Smith, daughter of Gen. William Smith, died two years after the death of her husband. Ann is most likely buried at Elmwood Cemetery near her husband. Several tombstones were destroyed years ago. James Maret replaced the tombstones of his grandparents. No tombstone was recorded in Rockcastle County, Kentucky Cemetery Records, Highgrass Publications, 1986 for Ann Smith Terrill.
