Major Ellsworth Glasgow, of 1004 South Street died at Schoitz Memorial Hospital at 10:05 P.M. of Cancer. He was 70 years, 1 month, and 25 days on this earth.

Services will be held Monday afternoon. Friends may call at the Parrott and Wood Funeral Home after noon on Saturday.

Major was born June 8, 1902, Story County, Iowa, the son of Brick and Florence Kitchen Glasgow. He married Doris Katherine McElree on October 10, 1952 in West Union, Fayette County, Iowa.

He was an Employee of the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 37 years, retiring in 1968.

He is survived by his wife; daughter Barbara and son William both at home. Also two brothers, Ray Glasgow of Paxton, Illinois and Lester Glasgow of Nevada, Story County, Iowa. He is further survived by two sisters, Miss Elva Glasgow and Mrs. Dick Pogue, both of Nevada, Story County, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.

His funeral service was held at the Falls Avenue Wesleyan Church in Waterloo, Iowa. The Reverend Jim Ites, was the officiating Pastor.

He is buried in the Garden of Time at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo, Iowa. His wife, Doris was interred next to him in 1994.
