Marion Riter passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Pawnee Manor in Pawnee City, Nebraska.

She was born on November 26, 1914 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to George and Christina (Gorn) Fox.

She was a graduate of North High in Omaha.

She worked at Bemis Bag Company and then for Northwestern Bell where she retired before moving to Pawnee City to raise quarter horses with her husband Eldon.

Marion was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Extension, Eastern Star, Red Hat Ladies, and numerous other organizations. For 71 years she was a proud member of the Rebekah Assembly.

She loved visiting with family and friends, picnics, traveling and she was an avid Huskers fan.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Joe Scarpa in 1957 and Eldon Riter in 1986; her siblings, George Fox, Bergetta Hageman, Mabel Williams, and Nora Bybee. She leaves behind many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services 9 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2013 at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Officiating Reverend Duane Westing. Visitation on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from noon-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary. Interment at the Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Council Bluffs, Iowa at 2 p.m. Memorials in lieu of flowers to the Presbyterian Church, 801 G Street, Pawnee City, NE or Pawnee County Memorial Medical Foundation.
