Erath- Leon J. Reed, Sr., 74, passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 in the Heart Hospital of Lafayette.

A Memorial mass will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 7 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Erath with Rev. Bill Melancon officiating.

A Funeral mass will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Lacassine with Rev. Roland Vaughn officiating. Inurnment will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home.

Survivors are his son, Leon Reed, Jr. and wife, Lynda of Minden; daughters, (Thelma) Lynn Reed Wilkinson of Abbeville and Lovina Kay Breaux and husband, Jeffrey of Lake Charles; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Stiles and brother, Morgan Reed.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Nell Jean Comeaux Reed.

He retired as a supervisor from Sonat Pipeline. He was very active in his community and very well respected. Leon was Grand Marshall of Erath 4th of July Association twice.
