Funeral services were held at the Congregational Church in Peterson yesterday afternoon for Henry Braasch, aged 70 retired resident of Peterson, who passed away at the Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee, Saturday, Rev. Fred Else of Sutherland was in charge of the services which were directed by the Baumgarten Funeral Home
Pallbearers were Wayne Tigges, Leo Tigges, Wilbur Tigges, Lloyd Joines, Robert Palmer and Joseph Montgomery.
Interment was in Oakland Cemetery here
Henry Braasch, the son of Herman and Mary (Anderson) Braasch, was born in Cherokee County, Iowa, April 6, 1883 and passed away at Sioux Valley Hospital, Cherokee, Iowa, August 25, 1962 at the age of 70 years, four months and 10 days
He was a longtime resident of Cherokee and Clay Counties, living in Aurelia, Iowa for 31 years moving to Peterson in 1947. Until his recent hospitalization he resided the past several years at the Gregg Nursing home in Cherokee
As a youth he attended the public schools in Cherokee County. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland
On February 12, 1915, he was united in marriage to Regina Tigges at Fort Dodge, Iowa
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Regina, two brothers, William and Louis Braasch and two sisters, Mrs. Louise Montgomery and Mrs. Erma Erickson
Survivors include a sister, Amelia Braasch of Sutherland, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends
