On May 18,1893, he was married to Miss Elisa Grosshuesch. The couple settled on a farm in the town of Newton where they lived for the next 31 years. In 1924 they came to Sheboygan where they lived since. He was a member of the Ebenezer Evangelical and Reformed Church.
On May 18, 1943, the couple celebrated their golden anniversary at a double celebration with Mr. and Mrs. William Gaterman. Survivors include three children, William Woepse of Kohler, Walter Woepse of town Newton, and Mrs. G. M.(Olga) Reineking of Sheboygan; six grandchildren; five grandchildren; and one brother, Herman Woepse, town of Mosel.
His wife passed away on April 9, 1950. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Henry, and a sister, Mrs. Fred Hasche. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m., Wednesday, at the Ebenezer Evangelical and Reformed Church. The Rev. John Gerber will officiate, and burial will be made in the family lot in Wildwood cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Ballhorn Funeral chapels from noon Tuesday until 11 am Wednesday, when it will be removed to the church to lie in state from noon until the
hour of services.
