102 year old Ethel Keith Ashford of Smithville passed away Saturday, Dec. 5th at the Webb House Retirement Home in Smithville. She was a homemaker & a member of the Snow Hill Baptist Church. Ms. Ethel was a 60 year member of the Eastern Star, joining in 1955. American Legion Aux., & a 48 year member of the Smithville Business & Professional Women's Club.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 11am from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5-8pm & Tuesday from 9am until the service time at 11am. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, James Keith & 2nd husband, Willie Brown Ashford. Parents, Dennis & Julie Ann Arnold Tramel. 3 brothers, Ernest, Haskel, Walter & James Tramel. 6 sisters, Nancy Nokes, Beartrice Bryant, Velma Reeves, Elrissa Whitlock, Myrtle Smith & Lena Vann.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Jean Ann & husband Joe Don Parkerson of Watertown. 2 sons, Wayne Keith of FL & Randall & wife Brenda Keith of Lebanon. 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild. 1 bother, Rev. Dennis Calvin Tramel of Smithville & 1 sister, Ruby Deal of Nashville. Family would like to send a special thanks to the owners & staff of the Webb House for the care & compassion given to Ms. Ashford. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Light House Christian Camp or to the Gideon's.
