He was born September 8, 1928 in Crescent Twp. to John T. and Mary Harms Focken. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Melvin Focken and one sister, Vera Freeman. He married Phyllis Joan Boyce on April 15, 1951 in Milford. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Ron (Patty) Focken, Darryl (Lisa) Focken and Randy (Candace) Focken; one brother, Kenneth (Joan) Focken; three sisters, Eileen (Wilmond) Breymeyer, Dorothy Boyce and Shirley Brutlag; four grandchildren, Mark (Sarah) Focken, Payton Focken, Macy Focken and Kaitlyn Focken and three step-grandchildren, Melissa (Dave) Hoglum, Matt (Rebekah) Ruegg and Mitchell Ruegg.
He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army. He farmed in the Milford area for 45 years.
