Leland C "Whitey" Johnson - 94 of Springville, Utah passed away Sunday October 18, 2009. He was born - July 14, 1915 in El Paso, TX to Donald Clark and Ethel Johnson. He is survived by June Wood Johnson who he married on August 30, 1940; 3 children: Gary L. Johnson of Livermore, CA, Cheryl O'meara of Indianapolis, IN and G. Clark Johnson of Springville, Utah, as well as 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Whitey was an avid fan of most sports but loved golf most of all and Hobble Greek Golf Course immediately became his course of choice when he and June picked Springville as their home after 42 years with Lockheed's Missiles and Space Division - CA. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and cherished his calling as a home teacher most of all.

Funeral Services will be held at the Spring Creek 6th Ward Chapel on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. located at 860 East 200 North, Springville, UT. Friends and family may attend a viewing Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville, or Saturday morning one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Sandy, Utah - 10600 South 1700 East.
