Mrs. Alice H. Arthur, 72, of St. Jacob, died Friday in St. Louis.
She was born on Jan. 12, 1905, in St. Jacob, a daughter of the late John and Tillie Funke Schmitt. On April 21, 1935, she was married to Julius Arthur in a St. Jacob ceremony.
Mrs. Arthur is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Tillie) Bingham of Prairie du Rocher, Mrs. Arthur (Lillie) Lippert of St. Louis and Miss Mary Alice Arthur of St. Jacob. Three grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Arthur was a member of the following organizations: the St. Jacob United Church of Christ, the women's fellowship of the church, Home Extension, Pride of the West Rebekah chapter, Anna Shrine, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Unity Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Unity Court, Order of the Amaranth, Metro Conclave True Kindred U.D. and the Senior Citizens organization of St. Jacob and Lebanon.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today in the Aebischer Funeral Home in St. Jacob. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, with the Rev. James Bell officiating. Burial will be in Keystone Cemetery.
