Sarah "Ellen" (Binkley) Reding was born on March 26, 1880 in Cheatham County, Tennessee, the daughter of Carroll Franklin Binkley (1844–1928) and Mary I (Frala) Binkley (1847–1928).
A member of the Presbyterian Church, she was married on February 6, 1900 in Montgomery County to Fines "Ewing" Reding (1879–1964), the son of Richard Lowe Reding (1845–1928) and Julia Tennessee (Bennett) Reding (1844–1930).
Living in the Kirkwood community in Montgomery County, Sarah was 91 years old and a widow when she died at General Care Convalescent Home on December 24, 1971 after being ill for nine years.
Preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, she was survived by sons Inman Reding and Luther Reding of Clarksville, Finis Reding of Guthrie, Kentucky, Richard Reding of Arcadia, California and Charles Reding of New Orleans, Louisiana, daughters Mrs Perry Bynum of Memphis and Mrs Dudley King of Guthrie, eighteen grandchildren, forty-three great-grandchildren and five 2nd-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held at Murphy Funeral Home, and burial was in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Clarksville.
