Louis Walter Amendt the son of Nlckolas and Mary Tigges Amendt, was born October 2, 1899 in Cherokee County, and died at Cherokee October 10,1908. He was 69 years and eight days of age.
He attended country school near his childhood home in Cherokee County where he lived, until he was 23 years, old. He then moved to a farm in Buena Vista County and after retiring in 1947 he had resided In Peterson.
On February 14, 1923 he was married to Vena Grapenthin at the Brooke Church. To this couple two daughters were born.
He was a member, of the United Church of Christ Congregational; Masonic Lodge No . 536; the Wild Rose Chapter of Eastern Star and the Abu Bekr Shrine.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers; and one sister.
Survivors are his wife ; two daughters, Viva Lu (Mrs. Marvin Jackson) Redlands, Calif:, and Ver Nelda (Mrs. Orren Bumann) of Peterson; three grandchildren, Corine and Diane Bumann and Jeff Jackson; a brother, Alfred Amendt of Sutherland; two sisters, Minnie Miller of Hartley and Viola Amendt of Spencer; other relatives and many friends.
