Al supported his family working in the floor covering business and retired in 1987. He loved to keep busy and in addition to his duties with the Fire Police, he worked for Patchogue Floral and later became a bus aide where he was a favorite of the children he took care of.
Much wisdom and humor lived within this soft-spoken, gentle man who was a whiz at trivia, sports and one-liners even in his last days. Al & the love of his life, Virginia celebrated 66 years of marriage this past June.
