Henry C. Finnern was a Representative from Crawford County, Iowa. He was born Heinrich Christian Finnern on August 13, 1877 in Fredesdorf, Germany, Schleswig-Holstein. A Senior Member of the firm of Finnern & Vosgerau. Henry was
the newspaper publisher of the The Denison Herald in Denison, Iowa.
He married Frieda Vosgerau and they had 5 children, Lillian, Ruby, Arnold, Norma and Marvin. Henry and family were members of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. He also served as the President of the Denison Opera House. He served as Postmaster from 1934 until 1949.
Henry was elected Representative of Fifty-Sixth District
1928 and re-elected in 1930 on the Democratic Ticket.
The young man from Germany, I believe did very well for himself.
