Robert V. Haney, 76, of Bedford, Ky., died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

He was born Oct. 11, 1925, in Goshen, Ohio, the son of Willard and Esther Hill Haney. He owned and operated Haney's TV Sales & Service in Bedford for many years. He was a member of the Bedford Baptist Church and a deacon at the church for many years. He was master commissioner of Trimble County for 27 years and was a past member of the Bedford Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Kosair Shrine and the Bedford Masonic Lodge No. 158.

Surviving are his wife, June Lehue Haney; one son, Bobby Haney, and one daughter, Marcia Dunaway, both of Bedford; four stepchildren, John Rand and Teresa Gilbert, both of Charleston, S.C., Bernard Rand and Sandra Shircliff, both of Louisville, Ky.; two brothers, Dean Haney of Dover, Ohio, and Willard Haney of Goshen, Ohio; two sisters, Faye Shidaker and Esther Mae Cox, both of New Philadelphia, Ohio; four grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Helen Staples Haney; and two brothers, William and Leroy Eugene Haney.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bedford Baptist Church, with burial in the Bedford IOOF Cemetery.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford.
