Robert E. “Bob” Alexander, age 84, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa. Robert “Bob” Alexander was born February 8, 1926 in McPherson County, Nebraska near Sutherland the son of Walter Charles and Bernadine (Volkl) Alexander. Bob was raised near Onawa, Iowa and attended school there. In his younger years he farmed and was united in marriage to Evelyn. Born to this union was a daughter: Patricia. Bob and Evelyn moved to Omaha in 1956 where Bob started working for Lozier Corporation. Bob was united in marriage to Peggy Jipp in 1967. He retired in 1993 as an Industrial Engineer after 37 years of service. Peggy preceded him in death in 1995. He was united in marriage to Joyce Cross on June 14, 1997 in Omaha, Nebraska. Bob was a member of the Golden Eagles at the FOE #38 in Omaha.

Survivors include his wife: Joyce of Omaha, daughter: Patricia Alexander and husband Mike Bullock of Yutan, NE; brother: Ray Alexander (Jan) of Omaha; step-children: Pamela Nelson (Trevor) of Okinawa, Japan and Mike Cross (Peggy) of Omaha; grandchildren: MikalaWilkening (John) of Red Oak; Michelle Thomas (Charles) of Cherry Point, NC; Thomas Daffer of Red Oak; and Emily Cross and Amanda Cross of Omaha; great grandchildren: Anthony Daffer and Kaydence Campbell; father-in-law: Everett Courcier of Stanton, IA; and many other relatives and friends.

At Bob’s request there will be no services and a private inurnment will be at a later date.
