Mary Jane Campbell was the daughter of Elijah Campbell 1820 – 1900 and Elizabeth Lovelace 1828 – 1900. Her siblings were: Lydia Campbell 1846 – 1918; Tabitha Campbell 1849 – 1916; Elizabeth Candace Campbell 1851 – 1885; Robert Howard Campbell 1853 – 1926; Sari Elizabeth "Sallie" Campbell 1856 – 1927; John F. Campbell 1858 – 1936; Amos Campbell 1859 – 1862; Thomas Grant Campbell 1864 – 1936; Emma Phylis Campbell 1868 – 1898 and James Setonian "Tony" Campbell 1873 – 1957.

On Dec. 8, 1878 Mary Jane became the bride of Rolandus R "Bud" Harris. From this marriage the following children were born: Candace Maude Harris 1881; Walter Frank Harris 1883 – 1960; Betty Lee Harris 1885; Calvin Earl Harris 1888; James "Erastus" Harris 1892 – 1949; Campbell Harris 1895 – 1968; Hughbert L. Harris 1899 and Alpha Ola Harris 1903 – 1983.

The 1900 census found Mollie and Bud living in Rural St Clair, Hawkins, Tennessee. Bud was farming land that he had purchased and paid for. Mollie had gave birth to 7 children and only 3 were living. They were Walter 17, Erastus 9, and Campbell 5. Mollie's mother was living with them.

On April 4, 1900 Mollie's dear mother, Elizabeth passed away. She was buried at the Courtney Cemetery. Later that year , on Nov 8th, Mollie's father, Elijah passed away. They are buried side by side in the Courtney Cemetery, where they "Rest in Peace."

In 1910 Their oldest son Walter married in 1907. They had a baby. The three of them were living with Mollie and Bud. Bud, Walter, and Erastus were farming the home farm.

The 1920 census found only Mollie, Bud and Ola at home now.

At 3:30 in the early morning on Dec. 10. 1924, Rolandus R. Harris exhaled his last breath and his soul returned to God. That was a sad day of Mollie. She selected a burial plot for her dear Bud, and gathered her family and friends around her at his grave site, and bid her beloved Bud farewell.

On October 24, 1927, Mollie's daughter-in-law, Cambell's wife, "Lizzie" passed away.

The 1930 census held some big changes. Cambell Harris was the head of the household. Living with him is his sister Ola, his son Harris B. Harris and his Widowed Mother, Mollie.

On Sept 6, 1931 Mollie passed away. She was buried next to her beloved Bud, where together they rest in Peace. (bio by Audrey DeCamp Hoffman)
