Larry Orlan Bailey, age 55, of Alexander, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2003. He was born August 10, 1943, in Little Rock to Glendon L. and Bessie Bailey.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Glendon L. Bailey; a brother, Bobby L. Bailey; and a granddaughter, Madison Nicole Bailey.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lanette Bailey; son, Chris Bailey and his wife Tonya; mother, Bessie Bailey; brother, Verion Bailey and his wife Donna; brother, Jerry Holloway and his wife Ruth; and a grandson, Austin Bailey.

Larry started as an apprentice electrician with the original Missouri Pacific Railroad. He retired with a disability in 1998 after 31 years of service. He was a third generation railroad worker with his father and grandfather before him. He wrote a troubleshooting manual for alternators in engines that the railroad uses today all over the system. Larry was an avid bass fisherman. He won many trophies in his pursuit of largemouth bass. He was always happiest in his boat fishing and talking with his God above. He was an active member of Temple Baptist Church.

There will be a graveside service 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at Bulter Cemetery in Vimy Ridge, Arkansas with Mr. Tom Jones officiating. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons Intl. Visitation will be at the home of Mrs. Bessie Bailey.
