Charles Louis "Pat" Bourbeau was born in Turners Falls on January 3, 1932, the son of Lionel J. and Rose A. (Daigneault) Bourbeau.

The nickname "Pat" came to be, as his mother Rose would often call Charles her "pet", and that became "Pat".

Charles Bourbeau was a student at Turners Falls High School. "Though very small, He is a pal to all". In his freshman year Pat played basketball, was in the band his sophomore year, was in the Art Club for three years, and played intramurals for four years. Charles "Pat" Bourbeau was on the decorating committee for several dances and ushered at the Junior Prom. Pat also won the part of Arne in the senior play, but came down with a case of measles and his understudy played the part. He graduated from Turners Falls High School with the Class of 1949.

Pat enlisted in the US Navy serving with the Air Transport Squadron Twenty-Two in Norfolk, VA at the Naval Air Station during the Korean Conflict. He received the National Defense Medal and was honorably discharged in 1954 after four years of service to his country.

Pat married twice, first to Jaqueline "Jackie" (Guilbeault) Bourbeau, and then to Edith "Yadja" (Bakula) Bourbeau.

Pat married Edith Bakula on July 10th, 1982, at the First Congregational Church in Greenfield, Massachusetts, with Rev. McCoy officiating the ceremony. It was the second marriage for both. Pat and Edith took a day trip to celebrate their union, traveling to Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. A few weeks later they took a honeymoon in Pennsylvania Dutch Country.

Pat was a quality controller for International Paper (formerly Strathmore Paper Co.) for 38 years. Previously, he had worked for the Spaulding Sport Company and the Apex Orchards picking apples.

He loved to play pinnacle and cribbage. Pat was an avid golfer and fisherman. He loved to cook and pick strawberries and peas. He also enjoyed his fish pond.

He leaves his wife of almost 30 years the former Edith Bakula, two sons, Michael and his wife Kathy, and Paul and his wife Mary, a daughter, Patricia Bourbeau. "Pat" also leaves a stepson, Christopher Filanowski and his wife Lynne and his grandchildren, Joshua McComb, Kyle Bourbeau, Justin Bourbeau, Brittany Bourbeau, Kearstin Harrington, Karissa Bourbeau, Peter Bourbeau and Jenavieve Filanowski, also three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
