OBITUARY: Fayette County, Tennessee - Dr. Kearney Durward Spears, 89, resident of the Oakland Community, retired Memphis area dentist, U.S. World War II Army Veteran and husband of Bonnie Spears died November 2, 2013. Services of Remembrance for Dr. Spears will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 5 at Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with a gathering of family and friends one hour before services. Interment will be private. A native of Oxford, MS, Dr. Spears was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. A Christian and a natural mechanic with the ability to build or repair almost anything, Dr. Spears enjoyed outdoor activities including bird hunting and bass fishing. He had been a resident of the Oakland Community for the past 28 years. He also leaves his children, Carra Spears Day of Flower Mound, TX, Michael Spears of Olive Branch, MS, Billy Spears of Memphis and four grandchildren, Shiloh Christian Spears, London Michael Spears, Graham Jeffrey Day and Leslie Ann Day. Memorials are requested to Fayette County Chapter of the American Cancer Society , 16845 Hwy 64, Somerville, TN 38068.
