Margaret Horihan
Mrs. Margaret Horihan, 86, rural Mabel, died Saturday morning at Abbott Hospital, Minneapolis, where she had been a patient two weeks following a heart attack.
The former Margaret Maloney was born Nov. 9 1876, in Houston County, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Maloney.
On Nov. 7, 1900, she was married to Martin Horihan. They lived on a farm in the Mabel area until 1926 when they moved to Lanesboro. Since Mr. Horihan's death Dec 21, 1941, she had lived with her children.
Survivors are; one son, Emmet, Spring Grove; five daughters, Mrs. Walter (Lucille) Strong, Mrs. John (Rosalie) Leary and Mrs. George (Helen) Cowen, Minneapolis; Sister Elise, Rochester, and Mrs. Donald (Veronica) Hayes, Tacoma, Wash.; 19 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Ernest Flyfletcher and Mrs. John Brennen, Platto, Sask., Canada; Mrs. Patrick Ryan, Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. D.A. Hennessy, Edmonton, Sask., Canada, and one brother, Dennis, Auburn, Wash. One daughter, Mrs. R.E. (Loretta) Sullivan, one brother and five sisters have died.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Olaf Catholic Church at Mabel, Rev. Clayton Haberman officiating. Burial was in St Mary's Cemetery, Preble Township.
Among those who attended the rosary and funeral of Mr. Martin Horihan at St. Olaf's Church, Mabel, were Mr. and Mrs. William Horihan, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Bell, Mrs., J.A. Connelly, Mrs. Howard Shattuck
