Edward Butler was a son of John and Mabel Butler. He married Dee Buckley on August 30, 1947 in Ely, Nevada. She preceded him in death.

He served in the US Army during World War II and advanced to the rank of Captain.

He is survived by sons, Bob (Marion) Butler, Mac (Paula) Butler, daughters, Sue (Paul) Squire, Jacqueline (Bill) Milner; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alan, Earl and sister, Grace Butler.
